The Association of Recreational Beach Users (ARBU) is a voluntary group that
is open to the public. The Association of Recreational Beach Users was formed
specifically to look after the social, political and communal interests of all
recreational beach users. Our initial focus will be on gaining access to our beaches in the Elephant
Coast region of Umkhanyakude, KZN South Africa with the intent on improving
local and domestic tourism within the Umkhanyakude district municipality and the
Elephant Coast of KZN South Africa.
The lack of reasonable access to the coastal zones of the Elephant Coast of
KZN South Africa has led to the demise of local and domestic tourism within the
Umkhanyakude district municipality, with associated job losses and other
economic issues connected low tourism numbers within the domestic and local
tourism sectors.
